Venezuela and Socialism

PENN- Socialism is an economic system where the ways of making a living are owned by a society as a whole. The value a person makes belongs to everyone in that society instead of the individual. No matter how hard you work, you will still be living in poverty. You don't get to keep what you make. With socialism, just because you made the money, doesn’t mean it belongs to you. Venezuela, a socialist country, used to be one of the richest countries in the world. In just 50 years, it was destroyed because of socialism. There is no electricity, running water, food, and medicine. You don't have your freedom of speech or protest. Guns were banned in 2012 and people have no way to protect themselves.
The US in a capitalist nation. Our country has tried to help Venezuela by sending food and medicine. President Maduro had the trucks full of supplies burned. That's not what a president does for his country. You can go anywhere in the country and get fresh food and water. You have the right to speak your mind and protest. You have the right to protect yourself.
Democratic socialists Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez think that socialism will better serve the US. if we give in to this, we will literally be in the dark like Venezuela. Socialism has killed over a 100 million people and been tried on over a 100 different countries and on every continent. It has failed every single time. Why do the democrats think socialism will work here. Capitalism makes and socialism takes.
